The Tanzania Tour Guides Foundation is a non-profit organization established to promote professional excellence among safari guides in Tanzania.
Founded in partnership with Government and Private Sector, we work to elevate the standards of tour guiding through comprehensive training programs, professional certification, and recognition of outstanding performance.
Our foundation believes that well-trained, knowledgeable, and professional tour guides are essential to Tanzania's tourism industry and play a crucial role in wildlife conservation and cultural preservation.
Our organization was originally established as the Tanzania Tour Guides Awards Foundation, with a primary focus on recognizing and celebrating excellence in tour guiding through the annual Safari Field Challenge competition.
However, as we grew and engaged more deeply with the tour guiding community, we recognized that professional guides needed more than just recognition—they needed comprehensive support, continuous training, certification programs, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
This realization led to our evolution and expansion. Today, we have transformed into the Tanzania Tour Guides Foundation, reflecting our broader mission to support tour guides throughout their entire careers.
